Omler Vls Rda Review

First Impression of the Box

Oumier VLS RDA comes in a small black box. In a foam insert box, you will see the RDA and underneath the foam insert are all the parts and instruction manuals. It includes a tri-tool as well as a squawking pin.

When I first saw this, I was very interested in it. What I was interested in was because I am a big fan of the Wasp Nano and even before that, I was a big fan of the White Bone Mini by Oumier. I have only tried two of those atomizers from this company, but both of them provided me with a great weight. I think the White Bone Mini is still one of the best single coil RTAs you can buy and I absolutely love my Wasp Nano. I loved Wasp so much that I actually bought four of them. Hopefully, VLS can live that legacy.

From Top to Bottom

The VLS 810 comes with a wide bore, cuff-style drip tip. This is not really my style of drip tip and I would prefer something that is slightly longer. This drip tip is heated when you are chain weeping because there is a metal top around the top cap. I would definitely like to see a longer drip tip and a 510 drip tip adapter. If you are going to make an atom in today’s day and age, you have to include more than one drip tip. If you are not going to do this, the lowest you should do is put the 510 drip tip adapter in the box. None of those things came with this atom. The other thing that bothers me about this drip tip is that it is actually the only one that fits snug in this top hat. When I tried the other 810 drip tips, they fit but they are a bit loose. I think Ooumier needs to tighten his tolerance on his 810 opening of the top cap.

The VLS top cap and barrel are all one piece. Each top cap, no matter what color you choose, is made of PEI material. Oumier decided to put a metal ring around the top part of the top cap. This ring heats up when the chain is vaping and I don’t really understand why they did it. I think they should have just left the top cap made of all plastic. If they had done this, it probably would not have been conducive to heat since it is the top hat. Combine that metal piece with this really short drip tip and while you’re chain vaping, you can definitely get some bacon lips.

The side of the barrel has 5 airflow slots arranged in a square and a fifth airflow slot in the middle. In the middle of the airflow slot, there is some VLS branding. The airflow slots line up with 5 airflow slots that are drilled through the posts of the deck. The airflow on this is a bit different because you can basically run it two ways. You can run the airflow through the post and line up the slots that way, or you can drag your coils towards the outer perimeter of the base and direct your airflow from the coil directly without going through the posts. I don’t think there is any right or wrong way to do this, I think it just comes down to personal preference and coil placement. I will go to the different types of builders I used to run in this RDA and the way I like to install airflow for those builds.

The Deck

VLS has a lot going on deck and is a very busy looking deck. It is a two-post, two-terminals-per-post deck with airflow slots drilled through the post. There are 5 airflow slots that coincide with the 5 airflow slots on the barrel. The airflow slots are actually drilled downwards with a slight angle. Adjusting the terminals on the deck is very good and you can certainly build some flat wire. The screws used on the Oumier deck are quite small. I think they were a little big and high quality. This is a big heavy looking deck, but it definitely gets the job done. It has a very unique look and I haven’t really seen anything as far as the deck goes.

You can run a dual horizontal coil by mounting one coil at the top terminals and another coil at the bottom terminals. You basically stack the coils on top of each other. When you do this, you have to use a bit more material because that top coil requires an extra long wick. You are going to elevate the air flow slightly with this type of construction because there is not much room for air to move around.
